Dickson Bain, DVM
Growing up raising orphaned calves, chickens and horses on the Valley Farm in Ennis, Texas was Dr. Bain's early exposure to the skills and compassion required for animal care. Judging there to be little future in ranching, his sights and passion turned to veterinary medicine.
He graduated in 1976 from Texas A & M University with a Bachelor's in Veterinary Science and a DVM degree. Dr. Bain's career continued for ten years in a mixed, large and small animal practice in Ennis. In 1988 he assumed ownership of Hillside Veterinary Clinic and began expanding its services and staff. He was instrumental in re-locating and renovating the hospital to its present, state-of-the-art facility at East Mockingbird Lane and its satellite location, Abrams Forest Veterinary Clinic on Abrams Road in the Lake Highlands area. He enjoys surgery and seeing patients during the week. Professionally, his interests include practice growth and development and hospital management.
Dr. Bain lives in Dallas with his wife and his dog, Charlie and his cat, Clifford. When he is not working, Dr. Bain enjoys taking trips to see the world with his wife and kids, snow skiing, reading history, and spending time at the family lake house.
