Hospitalization

hosp1

Thank you for allowing us to care for your pet. We understand this is a very trying time for your pet and your family. Our promise is to provide quality veterinary care 24/7; therefore, your pet will have veterinarians and technicians specifically assigned to care for them during their hospitalized stay 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have established protocols to best serve our hospitalized pets and you.

Prior to admission, we will review and discuss the treatment plan, as recommended by the veterinarian. We will also review the necessary financial and consent forms.

hospn2

During your pet’s hospitalization, the following tests or procedures may be recommended by the hospitalization veterinarian.

  • Bloodwork
  • Urinalysis
  • Digital radiology
  • Abdominal ultrasound
  • Electrocardiogram
  • Echocardiogram
  • Blood pressure
  • Pulse oximetry
  • Intravenous fluid therapy
  • Injectable medications
  • Urinary catheterization
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Blood transfusions

Prior to admitting your pet into the hospital, a deposit is required based on the treatment plan provided by the veterinarian. If the invoice exceeds the initial treatment plan during your pet’s stay, an additional deposit may be required.

Our hospital technician will provide financial updates twice daily (during the morning and afternoon shifts) to avoid financial uncertainty.

hospn3

The hospitalization veterinarian will provide medical updates with you by phone twice daily (during the morning and afternoon shifts). Additional updates may be necessary as your pet’s status changes. You are welcome to call at any hour and check on your pet.

Visits with your pet are encouraged at the discretion of the hospitalization veterinarian. To decrease traffic through the hospital and allow us to keep our treatments timely, we ask that visits are limited to 15 minutes and only between 10 am and 10 pm.

At your pet’s discharge from the hospital, the hospitalization veterinarian will review your pet’s home treatment plan.
