Surgery And Labs

Surgery
Should a Hillside veterinarian recommend surgery for your pet, a pre-surgical examination and blood tests will be ordered to assess the animal's worthiness to receive anesthesia and undergo the procedure.
In all surgeries, your medical team takes great care in monitoring your pet's heartbeat, blood pressure, oxygen level, fluid therapy and its post-operative comfort and clinical care through recovery. We use only the safest available anesthesia to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients.
Our veterinarians use the latest surgical techniques and equipment, including ultrasonography, radiography and lasers. They have the expertise and experience to perform various soft tissue, elective, orthopedic and emergency procedures, some of which are listed below.
- Spay (females)
- Neuter (males)
- Laser De-claws
- Tumor Removal
- Biopsies
- Anal Gland Removal
- Cherry Eye Repair

Certain orthopedic procedures are referred to a board certified veterinary surgeon.
Post-operative care includes appropriate pain management and lots of TLC.
We understand that your pet is a family member and that separation from him or her may be stressful. Be assured that the entire Hillside Veterinary Clinic team involved with your companion's medical treatment are committed to sensitive, compassionate care of your pet until discharge.
