Emergency & Primary Vet Care in Dallas
At Hillside Veterinary Clinic, we provide primary and emergency care to dogs and cats in the greater Dallas area. Hillside Veterinary Clinic is a full service companion animal hospital providing a broad spectrum of treatments and procedures. Its entire staff is committed to superior veterinary care throughout the life of your pet and quality client satisfaction for you, the pet owner.
As pet parents, we dread the thought of our fur-children ever getting sick enough to require emergency care. Unfortunately, accidents and illnesses do occur, so our exceptional emergency care teams are here to help in your time of need.
Regular wellness exams allow us to catch underlying health problems early, provide consistent preventative care, and support your pet’s overall health and well-being.
From routine cleanings to tooth extractions, the Thrive Pet Healthcare network of Primary Care veterinarians and Dental Specialists is here to keep your pet's smile fresh! Our general practices can take care of everyday dental maintenance with outstanding regular check-ins, cleanings, and basic surgeries.
Meanwhile, our specialty veterinarians are prepared to handle more complex or chronic dental cases like a root abscess, jaw fracture, abnormal tooth formation, or advanced periodontal disease. These doctors are highly trained within the field of veterinary dentistry and have access to specialized equipment, typically unavailable at primary care clinics.
Surgery covers a vast sub-sect of veterinary medicine, from routine spay and neuter to complex orthopedic and soft tissue procedures. Within our Thrive Pet Healthcare network, you can access surgical services on both the primary care and specialty level so whatever your pet’s surgical needs, our trusted veterinarians and surgical specialists are here for you.
Microchip implants are about the size of a grain of rice and are administered like a vaccine with potentially no pain to little pain for your pet. This significantly increases the chances of a reunion should they ever go missing.
It's hard to provide care without knowing the root of what is ailing your pet, which is why diagnostic testing is so important. Diagnostic testing can include laboratory testing (blood, urine, and fecal) and diagnostic imaging like X–rays, CT, MRI, and ultrasound.

In doing so, she ensures patients receive the highest quality of care in a comfortable and warm setting. Beyond veterinary care, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time at Orange Theory workouts, cooking, and doing outdoor activities with her furry kid (Lolo).

Dr. Heather Frankfurt received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), then graduated from the Ross University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. Her clinical training was completed at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. Born and raised in Dallas, she returned home after receiving her DVM and has since practiced at Hillside Veterinary Clinic.
Dr. Frankfurt's favorite area of practice is dermatology. Additionally, although she loves taking care of dogs, she especially enjoys feline medicine.
When not in the clinic Dr. Frankfurt loves spending quality time with her husband, Grant, her daughter, Holland, and her son, Hill. Her oldest “child” is a Siberian Forest Cat named Grayson, whom she would love to chat with you about. Her hobbies include being near a pool, college football, playing tennis and interior decorating.
DVM
Dr. Nollen attended Texas A&M for his B.S., his M.S., and his DVM, which he completed in 2014. He joined Hillside in 2014 and has a special interest in both internal and emergency medicine. One of his favorite things about being a veterinarian is the new challenges and interesting cases every day presents.
When not working, Dr. Nollen enjoys traveling, skiing, hiking with his smooth-coated collie, Ronan, and being active. Aside from Ronan, who was adopted from the Houston Collie Rescue, Dr. Nollen also has a calico named Halle for a companion, who was adopted from Texas A&M.
